A variation of the Corridor Mate but in this case two rooks of the mating side form a corridor. The king is positioned between the rooks and the queen stands in front of the king in the corridor delivering the checkmate.
This type of mate rarely occurs in practical play i.e. it requires the presence of three heavy pieces and by this point the opponent usually resigns. Nevertheless there are situations where for some reason the losing side decides to play until checkmate and in such cases this mate can be delivered.
